★ Character Information ★
Character Name: Yuki Minano
Character Age: 23
Character Species: Human, Handead
Current Health: Well, unharmed
Outfit: A frilly sort of top, white pants, Roman-style sandals.

Character Canon: Handead Anthem
Link to History: Some world info, first... The year is set something in the 2100's (described as year 21xx in canon) and Japan has undergone mass brainwashing at the hands of a long gone dictator. Those still brainwashed are referred to as Alivers, doomed to only work and pay bills for the rest of their lives. Handeads have appeared in the world semi-recently since that mass brainwashing, and are referred to as "half dead, half alive". They're also referred to as the "truly living" and can feel emotions more intensely than Alivers. At Yuki's current canon point, 50% of Japan is Handead. There's also DAA — Dead and Alive, an organization of Handead that seeks to grow their numbers. The DAA Rep is Yuki's grandfather, and he's often worried after by those who work for his family (as he's become such a free-spirit who does whatever he wants).

For Yuki specifically... He's shown in the JOIN US tracks to have been a highly anxious child — fretting over Gara and his constantly fluctuating dead level. He was close with Gara from youth, and the pair of them came to work with DAA. Genjiro Chibana and Kakeru Miyoshi often looked after them, and the four of them became close. Yet after Gara's abandonment by the DAA and after Kakeru going missing, there was about ten years unaccounted for in canon; it's uncertain exactly what Yuki was up to, besides making his family's caretakers anxious.

He and Gara came to meet with Genjiro again after so long, and announced they'd be joining up together outside of DAA to get into Great Music Festival (yes, it's really called that). Their group would quickly be named Shura Jodo, and the three of them fell into step with one another, working together on music like they never left one another's sides.
Canon Point: Post-JOINUS
Canon Iteration: Original Canon
Canon Iteration Explanation: N/A
★ Folkmore Roles & Attributes ★

Skills: Writing, lecturing/public speaking, gardening, singing/performing.
Canon Abilities:
ᐧ Handead physiology: He's more sensitive to physical sensations, such as pain and pleasure, and he has a 'dead point' which is just a discolored (maroon) dead part of his body; his are his wrists.

Dead level rising is a threat to most other Handead, however; it's when their emotions reach a fever pitch through some trigger (like being faced with trauma or some other stressor, or even positive emotions like the happiness from being praised, etc.) and the Handead affected acts on impulse and emotion alone. The tell, besides the changed behavior, is their eyes turning blood red.
Role: Legend
Role Qualities/Attributes: Six white wings and a golden halo.
Role Reasoning: Yuki is all about happiness, and helping others achieve that happiness. He chases that, along with his freedom, and he encourages others to do the same. His reasons for teaching others this way to happiness isn't selfish; he can be pretty selfish, but his approach to others is to encourage the best of themselves for unselfish reasons. Whatever shape that may take for them. For this reason, I think he'd best fit as a Legend. He's always been this way, even when he was younger and far more anxious. He's only ever had the best interests of those closest to him in mind, and wishes to help them find their best selves.
★ Personality ★

What is the most important and defining relationship(s) in your character's life and why?

His relationship with Gara Ukai, by far. Hands down, it always comes back to Gara. Even with them having spent years apart after Gara was kicked out from DAA, he still fell back into step with him after coming across him by pure chance and luck.

They work well together, even if Gara is bitey and snappy and doesn't seem to work well with many others. A lot of Yuki's fretting and worrying goes towards Gara; even now, when his anxiety is lessened drastically, it seems to also have changed focus. Where before he was outwardly anxious and openly worrying about everything, now he just transmutes it into pure meddling in Gara's affairs.

It suits them both just fine.

What is your character's moral code? Do they have one? Why or why not?

To chase happiness and freedom.

This is Yuki's interest above all else: whatever feels good, or sounds fun in the moment, is usually the choice he'll opt in for. He encourages others to do so as well, especially those closest to him. The last thing Yuki would want is to step on another's toes as far as their happiness and freedom goes.

He's in Shura Jodo because that sounded the most fun at the moment. He writes books and holds lectures to encourage others down this path.

I believe this was his path taken in the wake of Gara's absence. With no one else to turn to, Yuki turned inwards, and sought to change himself. As such, he forged a calmer personality, inspired by Gara and his own chase for freedom.

Is your character capable of forgiveness or will they hold a grudge until they die? Would anything ever make them change their mind?

He's absolutely capable of forgiveness. I'd say he even leans towards it as a tendency, as seen when returning to Genjiro. He has every right to have been mad at him, but sought his company and expertise both in the joint effort with Gara to make it to Great Music Festival.

I think the only thing that could change his mind really is a grievous and serious infringement on the health, happiness, safety, and freedom of himself or his loved ones. Still, it'd take a pretty intense offense to push him to that drastic level. Ultimately, Yuki isn't pressed or bothered like that about anything.

What would your character sacrifice to get what they want or to reach their potential? What have they sacrificed already?

What he wants changes at the drop of a hat, it seems like, and chasing his potential is another beast entirely. I don't believe he'd sacrifice a lot in the name of either of those things, since he can always move on to something that feels good to him. Again, he's not terribly pressed about this kind of thing, or really anything else. As such, he does have goals and the like, it's just that he's more of a go with the flow type of person.

Still, I think he's steeled himself unconsciously, as mentioned before when Gara had gone out of the country.
